Walked Up Days

Our walked up and mixed days remain extremely popular by virtue of the variety they provide. Although pheasant will still be the main focus of attention and are presented in many ways including some driven. However, parties will also encounter woodcock, snipe, duck and pigeon.

Dogs will be in their element here and can expect to be busy unless they are poorly controlled in which case their presence will be counter-productive in terms of final bags.

Our walked up days start from £150 per gun depending on the venue visited and, although they are not too demanding in terms of the ground covered, guns are advised to be reasonably fit.

Another popular alternative to consider during your break is driven snipe. Their zig-zag flight pattern render them one of the most elusive and challenging quarries in our area and you will need to be at the top of your game to exceed a bag of more than a few birds.

Numbers depend largely on weather conditions on the Continent but hard weather can certainly boost numbers substantially. The keeper will use his local knowledge and experience to isolate just a few fields in which to locate ample sport so drives need only be relatively short.
