The steep wooded valleys of North Cornwall and
Devon produce birds of the highest quality with an international
reputation. The Camelot has connections with a number of local
estates offering days of between 100 and 300 birds. All the
shoots are notable for their friendly atmosphere as well as
the quality of their sport. Prices tend to be lower than up-country,
starting at £20 per bird including lunch. |

Bags earlier in the season are more reliable,
though the sport from mid December onwards is often more challenging.
The best birds are in January though there will not be so many
of them. Parties of about 8 guns are preferred but sport can
also be arranged for smaller numbers. These parties are more
easily accommodated on walked up days or smaller driven days. |
